Usually decel buzz, along with gear drag, means a broken disc. Note the metal piece sticking out of the disc...

Billman

I dont have any trouble getting it into gears. I do notice that it seems noisy at high RPMs when accelerating.

But if I took out the slave cylinder, would this be something I could see with the tranny on the car to confirm if its busted? Or since I have the pretty annoyingly loud decel drone, is it a broken disc for sure?

Thanks

You won't see anything through the slave hole. What year is your car?

Typical decel buzz caused by the disc is on decel only, around 2500-5000 rpm. sometimes shorter, between 3000 and 4000.

Is it a noise only, or can you feel it too?

Its MY01

I can feel it aswell. I can hear the buzz at higher RPMs but when it drops to the lower RPMs it changes sound, gets deeper, and you can feel it a bit.

Bump.. I know out of the s2000's sold, I cant be the only one with the probelm.

Its getting pretty annoying but I dont really know where to start other than what I have done other than maybe get on a dyno and look for vibrations

OK..

I am flushing clutch fluid right now, and adjusting the pedal when finished.

But on the way home, I noticed something that hopefully will help.

This lower buzzing sound, I let off the pedal a bit quick, and the buzz seemed like it would "bounce" a few times, then go constant again.....

Something like BZZZ BZZZZ BZZZ BZZZZZZZZZZZ.... So when I let off the gas pedal in gear, it takes a second or two to do a constant buzz/vibration. The vibration doesnt start until the lowest RPM's. So I am not sure if that would clear anything up, but just figured I would add it here.

Could the driveshaft maybe have too much rotational play, thus causing the sound? I'll look in the Helms to see if there is any 'test' for the driveshaft or anything else I can get to easily.

I doubt there would be a problem with the driveshaft as that would be more speed dependent than rev.
With the clutch in and you come to a stop.. is the sound there?
Usually if there is a problem with the gearbox side of things it is linked to the revs...

Nope, the vibration only occurs when the car is in gear, and decellerating.

Push the clutch in, and it'll go away, push the gas, it'll go away.

I wonder if its possibly one of the front bearings on the rear diff. Cant remember what its called, but I think someone else said theres was bad, and it would make noise but wouldnt hurt anything.

Maybe I'll keep an eye out for a spare diff to just swap in for the hell of it.

I also flushed the clutch fluid and adjusted the pedal a little, and it seems to shift a bit nicer, but no change to the problem at hand.

I also HAVE had this problem since I bought it, so whatever it is, has lasted 8k miles at least so far... so I guess it cant be anything that would break and go out quickly.
