K i will try this when i get home tonight. Now for an update. The noise is better describer as a jingeling. (sp?) You can only hear it with the top up and the windows closed. The noise seem to be RPM related. It comes in about 8,000 and up and stays there, until the revs drop. Now i have a question, will reving the motor whil the car is stationary and in netural be deterimental to the engine life? I mean we have to do this to find the noise but at the same time i dont want to hurt the car. After the noise is fixed, the car still has the power problem. It almost seems as though vtec has lost power. That car dosent buck or anything like that at all. It just keeps accelerating but with alot less force than before. Im going to check the spark plugs later, but do you guys recomend anything else i could check. The guys at honda listened to the car and they say it sound great, and i would have to agree so they told me not to adjust the valuves because they seem to be in order. What else can i check. Any sensors that could possible result in this? Keep in mind accompined by the loss of power is a nasty almost raspy noise that seems to follow engine rpm. it is louder than normal and the only way i can describe it is it sounds thke the motor is runnung rough. It sounds like the regular motor noise only alot louder and rougher. Damn, i dont know what parts to check.

One other thing to check - it could be the 'ringing shifter'. When driving with the noise, press the gear level gently against the gate (careful not to knock it out of gear) - it doesn't need much effort. You're just trying to damp the vibrations to the gear lever. If the noise stops, then you've got the problem - it's the bit on the bottom of the gear level vibrating. Fixed with some grease. If you have the problem, try a search with 'ringing shifter' and you should find a thread by IIRC SilverSurfer which details it some more.
BTW the two heatshields I had problems with, are the one still on the manifold, and the one in the left middle of the picture xviper has helpfully posted.
