Need help! Left rear wheel area noise!

Ive got a problem with the left rear. It only does it once warmed up, but its a once per rotations rub / grind and does it at low speeds when free wheeling to a stop.
Going to have a go at the suggested procedure - its quite loud with the top down though!
So I have to remove the central nut, inspect and replace? If it still does it then my bearings are probably shot?
Thanks!

also, i learned in brakes class that this nut, the one thats under 220 ft-lbs of holding force, is a one time use bolt... and once taken off, must be replaced. anyone who took it off and retightend it ever have a problem afterward?
thanks.
thanks.

Agree on the nut.
The popping noise is hard to describe. Its like if you dented a big oil drum and it sprung back out again, if you get what I mean?? Its quite loud and can only really hear it below 30mph. When you go really slow it makes a grinding noise.

is it really that loud, i can hear a light "click" now and then when i move from a stop, or very low speeds, or when i start to reverse.
im going to check the tq on the nut anyways.
its recomended (by the book) to replace the nut once it is removed) it cant be very expensive, but better safe then sorry.
under that much tq, the metal will stretch, and loose holding power

Don't believe the hype.
You will have no issues whatsoever re-using the nut, unless you ruin the threads from not un-staking the nut.
I've re-used over 400....
