Need help!! Honda Service Dept messing with me!
I have a 2001 SK2. When I release clutch in reverse and 1st gear I hear a clunking noise.
Honda Service is telling me it is the joints in the drive shaft which is making this noise. They are telling me it is normal and all S2K with 10k miles or more have this issue.
Is this true? Has anyone else experienced this issue?
I can not see a $33k car with this type of problem.
Please help!!
Thanks!

EveryTime? you do the decribed above?
I know if I'm at a red light and I'm messing with the shifter..i.e. Clutch down and going from 1-3-4 and then back to 1 SOMETIMES I get a CLUNK noise. I just dismiss it as the car telling me,"Don't do that to me you figgity FU$K!"

yes. everytime i release the clutch in 1st and reverse. It is getting louder and more consistent as times goes on.
but it does not happen as you described, being staionary.
dealer states it is the joints in the driveshaft making this noise.

Don't be afraid to take it to another dealer, preferably one recommended by one of your S2000 neighbors here on the board. Some shops and service people are far superior to most and will get to the bottom of it rather than just putting you off.
