Use a screwdriver. Try prying the hangers off.

screwdriver, sweat and muscle. if you're by yourself, try propping the exhaust up and away from you with your knee.

It took me a while to figure out how to remove the hangers too!

WD 40 or other lube should work fine. Make sure you have plenty of lube on both the hanger and the metal hanger supports on both the exhaust and frame. When removing the exhaust, remove the hanger from the support which has the least amount of bend in it. I can't recall right off hand if you will need to first remove the support from the exhaust or from the support on the frame. Good Luck!

Did you take off your rear wheels? It makes it 100% eaiser. You also wanted to take the rear ones off first.

airsport is right. WD40 isn't really that slick and it evaporates

Mine came off with little effort.
