Hey, sorry for the delay but I finally got this video recorded and pressure readings done. The oil pressure read about 38-40 psi at 1500 rpm and about 18-20 at idle. And here's the video I promised.

Last engine I checked had 85 psi at 1500 rpm.

In comparison, yours is very poor.

I've never driven the car low on oil while I've had it, but that definitely doesn't mean that the previous owners kept up with the oil levels like they should have. What do you think my best bet is Billman? To take it to a shop asap?

Sorry it's been so long but I've decided to take my car to the shop and will probably be taking it in to S&R Performance here in Tampa sometime this week.. I'm hoping for the best and I'll probably update this thread once I know what's wrong.

I have a ticking noise similar to yours only when my engine is hot as well... Similar symptoms, same pitch. I will take it to a local Honda professional (fellow s2k owner) and see if we can resolve the issue

Hey Bill, how much for a gen4 TCT shipped to 30269?

Alright here is a new video and sound clip, both of which were made with different devices.

Also here's a little update.
I did visit the shop today and after talking with one of the mechanics there that said he was a previous s2000 owner as well as a Honda Tech for years, he was pretty confident that the noise was a TCT after listening to the engine. So I guess I'll try replacing it again and if the noise is still there I'll go and get a full check up done to find the source of the sound once and for all.

And hey funat9000rpm I'm sorry to hear your having the same issues but do let me know what you hear from the mechanic

Stop running the engine, now. Before its too late. That is definitely TCT noise. Dont run it again until we talk.

You've tried both of mine already, but no TCT will make up for the fact you have no oil pressure. Low oil to the TCT will render it useless. In your vid, your oil pressure is barely protecting the engine at best.

The noise is TCT, but the TCT is not the problem. I'll be glad to send you another, but you have a serious loss in oil pressure. you may have a spun bearing at early stages. any good shop can pull the pan, micro sand the crank, put a new bearing in and you'll be good to go. If you keep running it and not listening to me, you will wear through the copper of the bearing and the harder shell of the bearing will contact the crank and the engine will need to come out and have a $1k crank put in it. plus 1k in labor IF you are lucky.

Take your oil filter and cut it open, or take it off, let it drip dry overnight, then wrap it up in paper towels and mail it to me and I will cut it open.

If you do happen to get lucky and quiet the noise with another TCT, I'm confident you will destroy the engine by runnig it to 9k thinking the engine is ok.

PMed you my number. ring me.

I really wish I could garage the car till it's 100% but it is my only form of transportation right now so but I have been driving really conservative since a few weeks back because the noise has been making me nervous.. hopefully that counts for something..

The more you run it, the more the bearing will continue to shave through the copper.

After that, they cannot save the engine.
