Need help with the CEL!
The Utah Forum had a group drive to Bear Lake yesterday. We went on the Beach (which is sand) and I threw up 3 codes as we got back into town. They are now cleared but they are: p0301 cyl 1 misfire... P0304 cyl 4 misfire... p0300 random misfire. I already cleared them but I need to know if my plugs are bad (year old NKG's) or if my K&N is plugged (aem cold air)?? PLEASE HELP!

So i cleared them today at work and was fine for about ten miles. on the way home from work tonight, i threw a CEL again. I haven't checked with the scan tool to see what the problem is, but am pretty sure it's the same exact codes.

I don't know about anyone else, but I cringe at just the thought of driving your car on the beach. Sand gets into places it does not belong.
You you need to check your air filter and spark plugs before you can guess what is causing the misfire.
were you driving at a quick pace over the sand? enough to kick it up inside your engine bay?

nahh... wasn't driving too fast. i took my car to the dealership and they told me i had bad gas (from Sam's club). It makes sense cuz i have never put anything into my tank besides Chevron gas, and had my CEL jump on about 20-30 miles after the fill up. So, now i have to waste the last 1/2 tank of SH!TA$$ gas, with my car burping and farting all over town. i'll keep u posted.
thanks for the help
