Need Help, car cutting off while driving

But the S2000 runs fine on 91 octane.

The S also runs fine on 87 octane also. I've ran the car on 87 a number of times latley and the car seems to run no different. The owners manual recomends 93 octane, but also states that 87 octane is fine but some power loss may be noticalbe.

I must have a different owner's manual from you. Mine says "91 octane or higher". 93 octane is not widely available throughout N. America, so I can't see that it would say that.

Ahh man. I was really hoping that it was just bad gas in the car. If you guys are telling me that 87 Octane gas is good and shouldn't cause any problems than it was probably just considence that adding new fuel fixed the problem.

Well I hope the car continues to run OK. Whatever caused the car to cut off is now over I hope at least.

I don't think you should interpret this as saying 87 octane is "good". The ECU can figure out how to use it by altering timing but this doesn't mean it's "good". The manual recommends at least 91 octane and that's what you should be using whenever possible.
