Need help buying an S2k
I've been in the market for an S for awhile now. Researching this forum quite a bit; I went to the local Honda dealership to test drive a MY 06 with almost 21,000 miles. The carfax was clean, as it had been certified by a previous dealership. I do know that the 2nd owner was a 52 year old business owner who said he babied the car. When it came time to test drive the vehicle; there was an immediate surprise. When I turned on the car, the clutch was extremely lightweight. Driving my buddy's S2k, the clutch has some resistance both engaging/disengaging while this one had a very small amount both disengaging and engaging. The clutch seemed to grab with minor slippage as I released the clutch in 2nd relatively fast with also very minor slippage. I realize this is a hard subject to explain, but I tried my best. What I'm really getting to is... should I stay away from this used car? Any explanations and how much it would cost to fix? Thank you for any information or opinions in advance.

well wat he is saying is that the clutch doesn't really feel like it is slipping at all. the clutch grabs fine actually, but it is the way the clutch feels when preesed on. i was there to test drive the car with him. in my s the clutch is stock and when you press on the clutch there is a resistance. but on the s we test drove, when i put my foot on the clutch, it felt like it would fall to the floor under the weight of my foot. we were wondering if this is a major issue or not, he is very inertested in buy a s2000 and this is the only real issue with this car.

when i replaced my clutch with a new one, it felt very light compare to the old clutch. but over time, that smoothness went away slowly.
as long as the clutch is not slipping, it should be fine.
as long as the clutch is not slipping, it should be fine.
