There is a lot of history on this board about engine failures - search for #4 cylinder problems and as suggested earlier, the spark plug TSB.
From your description, it sounds like you have a legitimate case for warrantee repair. As others have stated, if you were accelerating in gear, there should be no way that you could over-rev the engine.
In this forum I've read about numerous failed engine claims that were initially denied, but later covered. The strategy that works best is to be consistent and level-headed about this. Contact Honda of America if the dealer does not satisfy you.
BTW, the consensus in this forum is that the ECU does not keep a running history of engine state, but can only record a "snapshot" of engine state in the event of an error code. This "snapshot" does include engine RPM, but because the data is not written at the exact moment of failure, the ECU often does not record the maximum RPM value.
