Need help with bleeding coolant/engine temps
#11
I simply put a bleed funnel on the radiator neck and let it run to 3 bars or 8 bars for the ap2... then I crack the bleeder by the TB until it runs clear. Then let it idle so more until all the air is out (heater on of course). All of this without any drama or bs techniques.

well day days of driving, about 90 miles and the temp gauge stayed perfectly at 8.
drained some coolant so when the air did rise it wouldn't spit coolant everywhere. Once steady steam came out I slowly filled it up(radiator cap was the only thing that was off). Kept adding until full and it's been working like a charm.
I didn't have to do this on the civic when I bought a new radiator, s2000 was a little more of a pain, took longer for all the air to come out.

Run the car to 3 bars, plus 1 minute.
TURN ENGINE OFF.
crack the bleeder, just enough to hear it hiss. A load of air will come out.
Close bleeder, fill radiator, repeat until interior heat is red hot.
Trust me on this one
Is this with rad cap on?
Any by repeat do you mean the whole process with letting the car cool down and running up to 3 bbars again or just cracking open the bleeder ?

do it the right way and get one of these, they are fairly cheap and are meant for these things

Do what billman says, it doesn't matter if the rad cap is on or not. I leave it off.
I want to add that after you shut off the car after letting it warm up, then open the bleed bolt, let the pressure escape then when it stops squeeze the top rad hose until fluid pours out. Now close the bleed bolt, keep the hose pinched until you close the bleed bolt, because if you let go it will syphon air in the system.

All you need to know. I did this a few months back and it worked perfectl. The coolant change and bleed it really very simple even though it seems difficult.
