First off make sure its that and dont go replacing parts..lol..that would suck if it turns out it wasnt it. But in the case it is a spun bearing chances are it score the crank and your going to have to have the crank re-shaved. So basically your looking at shaving off the crank rod journals and replacing all bearing with appropriate size bearings, but dont worry about that the machine shop will take care of everything and its not that expensive to re-shave a crank. Doesn't sound like alot of work but remember, that requires removing the engine and taking apart the block. Whats going to be a pita would be paying a mechanic labor for all that work. I guess thats why most people who spun bearings just replace the block all together, they can have the car running within one day.

I can pull the motor my self. I am going to hate doing it, but i can do it. Well, i guess ill go start pulling the oil pan off to check the bearings.

yeah, i was 2stepping when i launched. As soon as it was done jumping around and spinning the tires, all this happened.

if it is a spun bearing you migh be able to save the crank and rod but dont bet on it.

Will a spun bearing result in the oil light?

I guess if it is no longer seated correctly over the oil hole it could cause blockage or leakage.

thats a good question..I dont think it should but who knows?? Maybe the oil light is on as a precaution saying "HEY, SOMETHINGS NOT RIGHT!!!" and has something to do with oil..but then again thats what the check engine light is for..I dont know though..can anyone else chine on this??
