Need Help ASAP Please
Hey guys I was installing new springs on my can and I wat taking the upper y-arm I guess its called off and when I was trying to take the shock out it ripped my ABS cable what should I do is it still driveable and can this be fixed by me?

it's called an "A-arm".
yes, you can still drive.
your ABS system will just not work. your brakes still will. but you just wont have ABS. just like a non ABS equiped car.
can it be fixed by you? if you have moderate mechanical skills, yes.
where did it rip off? right at the sensor? in the middle of the wire?
you can repair it with a butt connector. but the thing is, many people argue that a repair to ABS line is a NO-GO. this is because adding a repair to the line can interrupt the flow of electricity in the line thus giving inaccurate readings to the module.
or you can just replace it. unplug it from one end, unclip it at the middle, and unbolt it at the other end.
good luck.

There is no electricity through the sensor. They are all inductive pick-up.
Replace it with a new sensor, do not attempt to repair it. They are very sensitive to small voltage differences.

This from memory so... I'm pretty sure the service the manual say's not to splice or repair some wires in the ABS and SRS systems. I think the ABS system measure pulses from from the "pulser" and "sensor" on each wheel via changes resistance (ohms). If the length or gauge of a wire changes, or it is spliced it's resistance changes slightly. I think the system is designed knowing the normal resistance of the wires (kinda like using tare on a scale) and is able to detect subtle changes from that norm (the pulses). I suppose tampering with the wires could in theory throw off the resistance of the wires and accuracy of the pulses and confuse the system.
I hope someone who really understands the systems chimes in because this is a little beyond me for sure. I'm not saying it is or, isn't ok to repair. (or that I disagree with any above post, because I don't) I don't know. I'm just trying to provide insight as to why some people say it's a NO-GO. I wouldn't want to provide bad info, especially with regards to a safety system. I guess my whole point would be to try and error on the side of caution and replace rather than repair if there is any doubt.
Good Luck also.

Ya I spliced the wires together and it has been working fine so far I'm going to call around and see what the best price I can get one for one I used to work for honda so hopefully I can get a discount.
