Let me get this straight... you're trying to get the little set screw out so you can remove the brake rotors?
Mine came out easily using a cordless drill with a phillips bit. Other people have had to use an impact wrench. If you managed to strip the head of the bolt, you'll have to drill it out. Don't worry too much when you're drilling... the set screw really isn't necessary, as it's pretty obvious that the wheel holds the rotor in place.

if you did not already remove the calipers, have someone hold the brake pedal to stop the rotor from spinning or wedge a piece of wood (or anything softer than the studs) between the studs and the ground to keep it from spinning. make sure your phillips head bit is a real deep and snug fit. hit the bit sharply with a hand sledge or heavy hammer and the screw should come right out. apply anti-sieze to it when replacing and just snug it, as it will not go anywhere, and as previously stated, the wheel holds the rotor flush on the hub when the lugz are torqued.

i personally use an impact driver for the job, but here's a trick that sherwin told me about. there are two other holes for screws, i think, on the rotor. take a screw of the right size, thread it in as far as you can with a screw driver. this will put tension the direction you want on the screws you're trying to loosen. when you take off your temporary screws, it should have loosened the ones you want off enough to take them off with a screw driver.
