Default need advice for repainting rear bumper

hey guys, the other day i was driving home from work in my s and i live in cleveland and it has been pretty cold lately, so i stopped at a red light and felt the slightest bump, i looked behind me and a ford taurus was backing up, and it turned onto another street, i immediately went to a parking lot and saw that my baby had lost paint, about the size of an orange gone there is no body damage, just paint. i was wondering what you guys think i should do. its an '00 silverstone, and i an curious what should i do to get it repainted and how much it would run me to get a very good job/match done. anything helps. thanks, and drive safe

silver will never match perfeclty it never matches perfectly from the factory. you can take it to any body shop that covers there work with a warranty or take it to honda dealership that has a body shop.... you'll probably be lookin anywhere from 3-500 to get it done properly. im a vendor and i paint cars for various dealerships so this is knowledge coming from experience.

, went to a shop and asked how much it'll cost to paint my kit and they said anywhere from $4-$500.00 just for the front bumper. I have a NFR though...

The body shop by me charges ~ $200 for a bumper cover. They painted my car (silverstone) and several other local member's cars (I know if two berlinas and another silverstone.)

Match was INCREDIBLY good.

They warrenty their work for life. They made sure to part the S2000 inside every night. No broken clips or problems at all. I am VERY happy with the work.

freshs2k answered your question. Lighter cars are more difficult given my limited experience with hondas vs dark colors as well. A shop will charge you 3-500. If you can find a guy that works sidejobs or independently, it should be about 200. Paint experts may be able to know it was repainted, however, but if you kept your paint in good condition you will probably not be able to tell the difference.

Well actually, Ruexp67 answered the question too, just not the way you wanted it answered.

I use the same shop as Rue, and trust me, it wasnt some cheap ass side job - $200 for a bumper is their rate - and thats for aftermarket too.

If you pay $500 for a bumper respray (and an oem bumper at that), then you got jacked. You should have no problem getting the price down to $200-300 from a number of shops. Some will be reputable places, others will turn out crap work. Its all down to you to ask questions, ask to see current projects, photos of previous projects etc. Ultimately, you will be leaving your car there - you have to be comfortable with them.

oh...and NEVER has the bumper painted off the car - you will never get silverstone matched perfectly.

I paid $850 for a new OEM bumper and paint... about $300 was the new cover, $350 in paint, and the rest in labor.
Most people can't tell the difference, but I see it... the yellows aren't a dead match. I would suspect that Silverstone would be the same... very hard to blend.
I went to one of the nations highest ranked body shops... They only work on Mercedez, Ferrari, etc... The guy had painted a Spa before mine and the car had enough damage that w/ some major respray you could tell what had been painted...
The ins company agreed to pay for the car to get a complete paint job.
