I'll be installing the simulator later tomorrow. Feel free to PM me, in case I forget, but I'll try to remember to post an update later this week. It's a neat little device -- mounts under the car, splices into the 12 volt and ground wires leading to the existing sensor (which stays in place or gets zip-tied to the tranny). I'll have to cut the existing signal wire and wire it into the simulator. And that's that. Seems pretty easy. And Casper warranty's that it'll work.

FWIW,

I found this thread over on ClubSi.com re: O2 simulators --> here

Looks like one person tried the Casper and the CEL still tripped.

FormerH22a4: in my experience, the answer is, "no." The ECU doesn't seem to trip any conservative algorythms as a result of a CEL (at least one generated by the O2 sensor).

Koejing: seems he's not alone. I installed the Casper simulator last night, took it for a test drive, and tripped a CEL after 45 minutes of driving. I plan to call them this morning to discuss it.

Sorry guys, but the Casper product doesn't seem to be the answer.

Maybe it's time to try the backup fuse approach, although I confess to being suspicious. Just doesn't seem like a good idea, although I have no concrete reasons for thinking so.

Also, I can report that zip-trying the sensor to the tranny didn't work, either. Remember that I've got 3" pipes and a turbo, however, so it might work if you're stock.
