Default N1 exhaust, and how much it would gain me?

I know that an N1 gains about 4-7hp on a stock car. When i'm done i plan on having a 4-1 header, maybe the spugen one, if not, a toda. VAFC, wider throttle body, and injen would be the complimenting components which all of which are already installed. After all that, i figure i could get maybe 207 at the wheels?? yes/no? Also, how much of an extra benifet would it be to throw on a lighter, higher performance N1 style exhaust. I have HKS hi po right now and love it, an exhaust i would only replace for significant gains. Thnx,

Brandon

You get a big fat 0 in the H.P. department. Okay, maybe 1/2 a horsepower. It may help after you get all of the other stuff installed, but just putting an N1 exhaust on isn't going to noticably be more powerful.

it won't give you alot, but it will give you some. Single exhaustsmake more power then duals, and are alot lighter of course. The main thing to remember is how much HP the exhaust gives you in the power curve and not just peak. If it can smooth it out and free up 3-4 hp throughout the powerband, then its worth it rather then 3 hp at redline.

I have the Speed N1 and Intake. I really think that you should have both intake and exhaust to see a difference i.e allows for more free flow. Cannon is right though, the single less restirictive than the dual. However, there is a price....they are usually much louder. The but dyno tells me a improved throttle response, but no numbers.

The bunch of bananas Mugen header helped the flatspot between 5-6k rpm. The Spoon N1 was added later, and it felt like the difference when you replace the shower head from a generic to one of the fancy units. The water pressure delivered hasn't changed, but the fancy shower-head feels like you increased the pressure. Same thing. The RPM's just want to climb! The power delivery is instant, the car is just peppy, itching to lurch forward and devour the road ahead.

Totally transformed my car. But unlike most, I did the header first, then the muffler.

cheers

From what I've read, the HKS exhaust is more restrictive than stock. Going from that to a single might net you 10 HP.
