mysterious thunk noise coming from the rear of the car
OK so I've been trying to track down an issue on my car for quite some time now. After reading many similar forum posts on this issue I cannot seem to find any definitive solution.
A few months back I replaced my differential mounts after I noticed one of them was cracked and the fluid was gone. Soon after replacing the mounts my car started to make a 'thunk' noise from the rear of the car.
At first i assumed it was my driveshaft, because earlier this year i noticed a build up of grease that had been spun from the prop-shaft.

After replacing the prop-shaft the issue still persists
The noise only occurs right after i release the clutch and the car engages gear but it only seems to happen in 1st or 1st -> 2nd gear.
I can also get the car to make the noise if i let off the gas and then reapply pressure to the gas pedal, even if I am very cautious and slow.
I have checked the mount bolts and the sub frame bolts as well.
If I jack the car up and run through the gears with the car on I cannot replicate the noise so it seems that it only happens under load.
I have also recently changed the differential fluid with a thicker Redline 75w-140. There were not any significant pieces of metal in the differential fluid just some very fine build up on the drain bolt which I understand to be normal.
The transmission fluid has also been changed with Honda MTF
The only solution left that I can think of would be to purchase driveshaft spacers becasue the car is mildly lowered (from the PO), but I am not sure that axles are the issue here.
Any input is appriciated
