Default MY2002 Hardtop Installs

Anyone out there install their own hardtop on a 2002. I have one in the hanger waiting for me, however after doing some research it seems the instructions are written for previous years that didn't already have rear window defrost. It appears that my car already has the wire harness installed and only needs a second connector for the hardtop. Can someone fill me in on the install differences? I do have a manual but am not clear exactly what may need to be done.

Thanks

you can ignore the defrost part. you might pm full throttle. he is a master mechanic for honda and just installed my top on saturday at my house. he can give you some tips on how the 02 differs from the instructions. note the $40 pvc stand in the background. that's fullthrottle admiring his work. you can find him in the rockymountain forum.

that looks awesome~

just wondering ...
if you ignore the defrost part, then you might have a bit of trouble look through the back on winter or rainy days ...

defrost does come into handy sometime ...

blue02: good question, i am wondering about the same thing ...

it's not that you ignore it, it's just that the wiring has already been done for the defroster on the 02 rear glass window. the 01 and 00 had no defroster back there and hence no switch on the console. with the 02 you simply tie the top into the preexisting wiring.
