Default MY2000 with original spark plugs.... worth doing?

I know the OEM spark plugs last a long time. My 2000 s2k has the original plugs. With 22k on the clock, should I change them?

I would check them and re-torque them to the proper spec but not sure I'd spend the $$ just because of age.

Take a look at them and then decide if they need replacing:
-------------------------------
Once all four of the old plugs are out, check them out - this is a great time to get an idea of how your engine is running.

Here's the general rundown on plugs:

White - lean and hot
Light brown - perfect
Dark brown - rich
Black - oil fouled or very rich (wet black is oil, dry black is carbon)

S2000s generally run white to light brown. If you see dark brown, I wouldn't worry, but you shouldn't see black unless you were having problems before you checked the plugs. Also, with our engines, cylinders 3 and 4 (the back two) are more likely to look fouled due to blow by through the PCV, fyi.

It's a 30 min job.If you take the time to pull & check,go ahead & replace.

I run NGK BKR7E($2 ea) ,Gap .040 on my 03 w/99k miles.Plugs are light tan every time.

I wouldn't consider s2000 spark plugs to be cheap...? Mine were like 10-13 bucks aa plug I think. Do spark plugs have an "expiration" date?

Definitely do them without question. Not so much for condition, but for proper torque (you are in recall)

Set the to 24 ft-lbs.

How does the OP know they are the originals?
Is the OP the first and only owner?
