MY06 S2k - just bought it, and now CEL nightmare

Well, gotta give props to the dealer!
I had to call them a few times, but they finally got back to me and told me they had taken a look at the car with a borescope, and found a lot of carbon buildup in the valves - I guess enough to prevent the valves from sealing, or something? Either way, I didn't think much of it and told the dealer that I'd rather not move forward with the car. They of course, and understandably, tried to convince me to keep the s2k, but eventually agreed to do a full rollback. When I went back there, they apologized several times (I really think they had no idea this car had this sort of engine problem) , and were fast, professional and polite about the whole thing. Gave me my trade in unscathed, and returned the downpayment.
Pretty glad about the whole experience, they could've been a real headache but chose to do the right thing. After I read about so many horror stories on the forums, I was expecting the worst!
Anyways, the hunt begins... now I'm paranoid a lot of s2ks have been abused, but I'll just have to be extra careful, haha.

Good decision b/c there could be a mess of problems with that car like cracked retainers ready to go or bent valves. Just be patient and find another one and at least this time you will know what to look for

Thanks again guys - I knew I had made the right decision when I drove this sebring silver 06. It drove like a whole different car than the 06 white lemon (lot of slop, dirty interior, etc).
It's not white, but I think silver looks just as good. I had to spend a little more, but for peace of mind, and <23k miles, totally worth it! (the lemon gpw had 64k miles)
Edit: Oh, this one had a free pair of sunglasses (+ case and lens) and a stack of business cards in the secret compartment. haha. buying an s2k 2nd hand is like getting a box of chocolates..

nice looking car man. You made the right choice.
All i can say is:
GOOD NO CHEAP AND CHEAP NO GOOD as my asian friends say. All i am trying to say is you pay for what you get and from the looks of it, you paid for a really nice looking mint condition car. Props to you

Thanks, 03_bb_s2k. I did luck out, this car has never been repainted, or in an accident, etc. It felt newer than the 05 BB I had, and the shifter is about 10x better. For some reason, the shifter in my '05 felt soft and squishy, I thought they were all like that. Driving this one though, wow! Feels like a "baby NSX", though I really wish the manual steering experience of the '91-'93 nsx carried over.
Definitely nice to have an S2k with everything working I'll snap some shots of it with my real camera (not a phone) over the weekend
