Where would one get a dental pick? Great write up. I'll be doing this next week. It's nice to know that we don't have to replace the whole cylinder like some have done.

If you buy an 03 slave cylinder you can just swap it out with the 04/05 one right? If so what kind of grease do you need to lube it with? (i figure modifying your stock one would void your warranty so might as well keep the 04/05 in case you do blow a differential so you can swap it back if need be).
Also, I have a brake bleeder that basically attaches onto the bleeder nub and it has a hand pump that creates vacuum so when you bleed your brakes you just loosen the nub and it sucks the air/juice out. Works well on brakes, would this work just as well on the slave solenoid? I figure if so it would make the process even easier/quicker because you wouldnt have to keep pumping the clutch.

well, just ordered my 03 slave cylinder from hardtopguy. i could not get that F***** clip out. i went through every pointed sharpe object in my house including the dental pick (now broken pick).

Well... I finished this mod late last night. I was to tired to test it out till this morning.Man! This makes the entire driving experience so much better!
I totally recommend doing this.
The instructions are spot on. The only problem for me was getting my girlfriend off the couch @ 12:30 am to pump the clutch pedal...

The pliers will not....
Remember to get the pick under the END edge of the snap ring and pull QUICKLY in the UPWARD direction!
Then guide the pick around making sure it does not slide back down.
GET A PICK!!!!!!!!
