only on 04 and up. I dont know why people are having trouble using the pick. Go to sears and buy a pick set. With the right pick it's easy.

I love my '05 (and my '01 before it). I've been reading about removing the delay value and would like to do it.

HOWEVER, at the risk of sounding like a mechanical invalid I have to admit that it's been years since I did any of my own work on any of my cars.

So I have a few questions. Can I ask my normal mechanic to perform this? Would he know what I'm talking about or would I have to take it to a Honda perfromance specialist? I can only assume that the service department at a Honda dealer would be forbidden to do this.

How much should I expect to pay for this?

Is this process reversible?

print out the DIY and any mechanic can do it in less than 45 minutes.

See if anyone in your local group has done it first... if not, show the DIY to a mechanic and get a quote. Because they will most likely charge by the hour, it will be less than $75.

Why not do it yourself? It's not rocket science.

Yes it's reversable. Follow the procedure and put it back in.

Just a quick note on this whole slave cylinder modification issue.

I had the delay valve removed on my 04 and found that it made little difference in terms of clutch slippage during hard shifts. I eventually ended up putting it back to the stock configuration.

I really think this whole issue has more to do with shifting style, i.e. as many people have pointed out that applying the throttle to early as the clutch is being engaged results in premature wear and slippage. If I slow my shifts down and concentrate more on when I apply the throttle I can virtually eliminate the problem.

Unfortunately I have found that shifting slowly takes a bit of the fun out of driving this car. I'm going to put in a stronger pressure plate (along with a new oem friction disk and lighter flywheel) and see if that improves the clutch performance.

I had the ACT heavy duty pressure plate and ACT ProLite flywheel installed on Monday along with a new OEM friction disk. Honda did all of the work.

I drove the car home last night from the shop and the clutch felt great. There was a little more spring (resistance) to the clutch pedal but it was still very close to the OEM set-up. In fact, I prefer the slightly stronger pedal feel compared to stock.

There was also no noticeable deceleration buzz or any other side effects of the lighter flywheel.

I need an 03 clutch slave cylender. I have an 05, and I really dont feel like farting around with the mod. So, if you have one, or know where to get one...

PLEASE email me at chad2007@rogers.com

Thanks guys! I gotta get rid of this delay BS. Drove it yesterday, and it really browned me off.

Chad
