... this only applies to 2004 and 2005 cars and a select few 2003 cars.
I didn't realize that a "select few" MY 2003 cars had the delay valve. I thought it was implemented for the MY 2004 and newer cars with their updated transmissions. Where did this information come from?
We did a delay valve-ectomy this past weekend on a 2005 and the owner is extremely pleased with the result.

Also, don't forget to include the 2006 model year.

i just did this mod bout 2 hours ago.. it took like 1 hour.. and it worked great! i found that drilling or "carving" a groove on the outer wall where the plug is and drilling it just a tad deeper then the PITA clip it made it easy to grab the clip and pop it out.. i used a dremal tool but be careful not to drill out to much...
this is a great mod and a clutch saving mod at that! thanks for the write up!

Don't think it's the diff..... most likely your clutch. If the RPM's are hovering when your WOT then your clutch is slipping. If the wheels are spinning then the RPM's will still hit redline.

should it always slip even if the shift is not as "aggressive" for instance a slower shift from 1st to 2nd?
1. Your timing is off and you are gassing a split second before being fully off the clutch.
2. Your clutch needs to be replaced soon. (which could be caused by #1)

I was thinking about doing this mod when I was informed that the warranty for the car would be void in doing so. I then suggested of replacing the part with a new one if I needed warranty service but then my mechanic said it would be apparrent and could not hide the fact that alterations were made!
I really dont want to wait 36K miles or 3 years to do this mod!
Any thoughts?
