while the RE050 is a 215 tire with 6.7" tread width. This is straight from Tirerack.com
In that case no wonder, but can somebody verifty that TR's # is indeed correct. I mean 6.7" is even narrower than the 7" wheel and is 1.6" narrower than the section width of the tire mounted on a 7" wheel!

I can't verify with measurements, but I've had OEM S02 and OEM RE050 fronts end-to-end, and visually the RE050 contact patch is smaller. Notice how it's more rounded? I think the wider wheel accounts for the greater overall width.

If I wanted to go with wider tires for AP2 wheels, would 225/45/17 front and 255/40/17 rear be correct? I'm lowered about 1 inch. Any rubbing issues with this setup?

Bump, just found this thread and am thinking of the same setup.

Kind of sad to hear about the best motoring comparison where the AP1 wheels were better than AP2 wheels on AP1 car.

Does anyone know where I can download the best motoring comparison of ap1 and ap2 wheels?

I have no idea, but I remember the AP1 + AP2 wheels running .5 seconds better in the lap than it did when it was AP1 + AP1 wheels. So AP2 wheels on AP1 caused it to perform better.
