I would swap engines with the donor.
You'll probably have metal shavings, etc. floating around the damaged engine, and you won't know if there's anything else wrong until you get it open. If your donor car is a known good working engine, then just swap it for now, and deal with the bad motor when you have time.

So my most excellent mechanic (who I met after running over a giant root ball in my CR-V) made me an offer I couldn't refuse, and he swapped engines with the donor car and I am back on the road. Sooooo nice to be driving in the awesome and reliable S2000 again. It's like I got out of jail.
Now I have a dead engine to go along with my project S2000, which will probably never make it's way into a CRX body - neat idea, but life+family+work > race car, so I will likely get rid of it along with all my (unused) racing gear. Oh well. Good to be back. - RJ
