Hi i got a Honda S2000 from yr 2001 and i wanted to ask if the 04 Housing does fit to my car, or if there will be any problems 'cause the interiorstuff will not fit into the 04 Housing. Thanks so far.

yes. but dont swap in the 04 housing thinking that it's definitely stronger.

So no way to get the Comptech parts?Only a core exchange that will cost more in freight alone than a new 2004 diff?

Nope, you have to do the exchange. The cost covers the labor to fit those caps. And it does take some work to do. They are not just bolted on, they have to be fitted.

Posting this back up to the top. Does anyone have any new info? Now some AP2's are almost three years old. Has anyone had a failed Ap2 diff yet? I'm pretty sure we had several failed ap1 diffs in that time span.

yes. 2 that I can recall. one of which i know personally. I thought there was a 3rd but i dont remember. what I do remember, though, was that the 2 ap2 diffs that failed both had the delay valve removed.

if you're looking for the ap2 diff to be some magical non-failing diff, then look elsewhere. it's decreased failure rate has really nothing to do with the diff itself.

Well it would be interesting to see just how many have failed and if the delay valve was removed. I seem to remember a lot more ap1 diffs failing by this point in their life.

Now again, I do still think drivers have something to do with it, because exceptional drivers such as yourself never had a problem. Just curious to see how the combination of changes helped the ap2.
