My Vortech SC Surges @ 8k RPM...Whats Wrong??????

Did you not gap your plugs DOWN? It specifically states this in the Vortech manual. Running stock gap can lead to funny issues.
The oil you see in front of the impeller is most likely from the front valve cover breather. Remember, you connected it to the elbow on the intake just before the blower.

Damn Viper, Quick Reply,
Thanks for the help, I have NGK's gapped at 0.035 I did not read the part in the manual about the gap.
What plugs are you running?
I need to replace mine and I would like to try something different.

NGK stock # 7173 is a R5672A-8, 1 range colder than stock, non-resistor plug
NGK srock # 7405 is a R5672A-9, 2 ranges colder than stock, also a non-resistor plug
Most SC'd owners are using the 8's. I briefly swapped to the 9's in a attempt to eliminate some detonation I was having in winter with oxygenated fuel.
