Lately I've noticed my top not wanting to go all the way down. It goes down but sometimes not below the rear wind deflector. Has this happened to you? I've got an '02 and wondering should I bring it back to the dealer or can it be fixed by me self? I'm sure the monkeys at the dealer will be thrashing all over my car

Mine sometimes does that late at night (I'm guessing because it's cold). I just flip it back up and try again, and it usually works then.

While on the subject, I'm suspecting my top doesn't go down as far as it should. When fully down, the plastic handle on the top is level with the plastic trim on the back of the well. Is it supposed to be a lot lower into the well? Hmm.. I hope someone understands this.

hey wantone...

i think we ran into this problem during the last meet when it was raining. the vinyl top is just cold. i've had that problem lately also. i just give it an extra push by hand; however, after my car sits in the sun for a while, it'll go all the way down. hope this helps.

A TSB exists which gives the "fix" procedure, but essentially you are just lowering the rear bumpers that the top hits. If it's excessively cold out, you should expect it to stick up a bit more...

There have been a few threads on this recently... It happens when it's cold out and the fabric is stiff. There are ways around it, do a search for "cold top" or something like that. I've posted a numbe of times the procedure to "fix" the problem.
