My s2k already having problems
On the 11th of this month i purchased my 2001 s2k from a well known dealer that specializes in preformance cars, well on my way home from work i noticed a possible grinding shifting from 1st-2nd and confirmed it just now going around the block a couple times...car only has 36k on the odometer and i never noticed it during the test drive and i was wondering wether i have any rights under lemon law or something like that.I just don't understand how a transmission could already start having problems...my dads 69 firebird has well over 130k between my dad and i and has never had a tranny problem...do they not make em like they used to?

Did the car come with a (full) service history?
(An official Honda dealer would be able to see if any recalls were done on your car IMO, there has been a recal for grinding shifts 1st-2nd during high revs IIRC)
Did you get any used-car warranty?
Anyway.. it is not bad thing to (have the dealer) change the transmission oil if it hasn't been changed for a while.
Use fresh Honda MTF or something else, there are lots of suggestions in the "Oil Journals" on top of UTH.
Since you are relativly new to the car.. you may need to "upgrade" your shifting techniques. (no offence)
Succes.

Well i've noticed it going away if i let my car heat up for 10 min. or so b4 i leave and than it gets smoother the more i drive...i've had smooth transsmisons, ones that don't wanna ever seem to go into gear and the feel of this is quite different than i'm used too, as i've been driving my old 83 mustang around lately.
