ambient temperature plays a big part from what ive seen. Also sometimes it feels like the ecu needs time to adjust.

try borrowing a friends test pipe or a clean cat my car had dramatic power loss and would bog right before vtec. on top of that in 2nd gear it didnt have enuff power to reach 9k rpm. when i put a test pipe on it it was a hole new car

No I have an ap2 n I have the same problem it feels so slow n sluggish . I had an ap1 n I think my ap1 was so much quicker . Im gonna try valve adjustment and new air filter n sparkplugs n see if that helps . I cleaned my map sensor n its still the same .

Just messing around. I too feel the same thing even with an AP2. Its frustrating but I guess its something we must live with. I love a cool summer night!!!

Theres gotta be something that prevents heat soak that no ones figured out or tried yet.

Other than "heat soak" when was the last time your valves were adjusted?

I bet a valve adjustment would solve the sluggishness.

I noticed my 01 was decidedly lacking torque on the low cam. After valve adjustment it's an entirely different car.
