Theres a way to check if it has stopped sucking air 100%. What I did was cut out a corner of the bottom of a plastic bag, kinda like the ones they have in the produce section at stores. You wrap the oil catch can with the bag (like putting a jimmy on the piece) and also wrap around a rubber band to seal the bag. If the catch can is not fully sealed then the catch can will suck all the air out of the bag... kinda like those food savers that suck the air out of plastic bags with food in it.
