My left headlamp is acting up!

so my father and I lifted the S up this past weekend to change the breaks in our garage. Unfortunately, my father left the car in the ignition and the key left in the "on" position. When we finished with the breaks, we realized the battery was dead. So we went ahead and charged it up. The car ran great but the left headlamp was off. I turned the lights off and on and it would flicker and even stay on for a minute or two before turning off again. And now after three days the light stays on consistently but its not as strong as the right headlamp. Its like a weaker purplish color. Any ideas on what happened? how can i go about fixing the problem.
thanks

Well, this happened to my Integra and it ended up being a blemish on the bulb. In my situation the HID bulb wouldn't turn on during the intial turn of the switch. After flickering it on and off a few times it would turn on but one was purple and one was blue. After taking the HID bulb out we noticed the small, grey-ish in color blemish on the bulb. Tested with another HID bulb and the new one worked fine.

put the good capsule on the left side so you can rule out the ballast. if the right capsule works fine on the left side, then all you have to do is buy a new capsule.
if this is the case, the only down side will be two different colors due to having a new capsule witn 0-1 hour on it's life.

I've had a headlight saga of my own. I got a hold of a manual and it gave me the confidence I needed to investigate the HID. The voltage warnings scared the crap out of me-I made sure my wife was in the garage with the phone just in case
You can access the headlight for bulb purposes via the fenderwell. Once the car is up off the ground you can turn the wheel accordingly to get room but if you remove the wheels-you can get optimum access. remove the wheel fender liners; either the front section and peel back or remove completely. Make sure the battery is completely disconnected and obviously lights turned off.
Oh, and before you do all that-check your headlamp fuses in the engine bay.
My S will be going to Honda this week to try and get mine warrantied.

A transient high tension (25,000 volts) occurs at the bulb sockets of the high intensity discharge (HID) lamps when the combination switch is turned ON. It may cause serious electrical shock or electrocution.
