It's not the thermostat.
I'm confused then. How did I remedy the exact same problems by replacing my thermostat? Not trying to be a smart ass, I really want to know.

Air Conditioning doesn't equal cold.
Defrosters (like in our Honda) use it to dehumidify as well. Doesn't affect the temperature.

Assuming that Billman is referring to a low coolant condition, you fixed it by topping off the coolant after replacing the thermostat.

I remember (don't judge my memory now, it's mostly intact) how when my car was warmed up once when the light was off (I always leave it on) the air comming out when the light was off wasn't as warm as the air when the light was on. I played with it for a few minutes, letting it be on for a few moments, then off for a few moments and there was a noticeable difference when the light was on and off. The air being warmer with the light on.

Maybe it's just me...

In my case, the coolant wasn't low at all. After checking some of my old posts regarding my heater problems, mine started as the OP describes, no heat while not moving. After a few weeks of that, the car started taking forever to get up to operating temp. That's when I replaced the thermostat. But then I had no heat at all, moving or not. That was solved by getting the air out of the system.

Sooooo, if its not the thermostat(or heater valve, or low coolant), perhaps its air in the system.
