i was thinking about putting a flange there but then i thought that i would only every put the stock back on is when i sell the car and in that case, i would just cut it off and weld the stock back on. and a flange would hang a little low there if i would lower the car more.

You're almost local to me and I just threw away a stocker exhaust. I like that home made single.

the thing is if you flanged it where you cut it i believe it comes near the axle line meaning if you going over a bump the exhaust would travel with the car too so it wont get stuck. but just for reassurance i made a skid plate on the flange for mine.
here's a pic of the one i made i didnt put the skid plate on till a bit after but you'll kinda get the idea why it wont scrape unless your totally bottoming out the suspension in which case your probably damaging more than just the exhaust...

do you autocross in the susq-region? i'll be at the Lancaster autox this sunday. it will be my first time out in the s2k, raced last year in the evo.
