The breakaway torque to loosen the crank bolts are always much higher than the installed torque.

Man up, get on the other side of the car and pull it, not push it.

I've seen 145lb service techs not have problem

I had a h22 about a year ago that was like that. we had the honda crank pulley tool with an 8 ft pipe on it, the the breaker bar with a 10 ft pipe on it. I was pulling with all my 200lbs, other dude had the torch on the crank pulley bolt, it still wouldnt budge. we broke the breaker bar. I had to wait till the snap on man came with a 3/4 drive breaker bar. It took 2 of us on the 10ft pipe and the torch to finally get it loose.

That's cute, but have you actually done it yourself? Maybe the picture doesn't show it well enough but I was giving it EVERYTHING I had. My 200lb friend that took the picture was on the other side pulling while I was pushing like in the pic. I bent the 3/4 breaker bar like it was made of rubber.

My manhood was not in question, my faith in God is. He tq'd that thing on my car to piss me off. That ain't right.

Slow's a honda mechanic. He's just ribbing you. Everyone who's pulled the crank pulley on almost all honda's has been where you are. You may need to heat the bolt, or use a big impact to get it off. Sometime you have to put your weight into the bar over, and over again. Just about the time you want to give up is when it will give. It smells defeat.

Edit: Just a tip: if the bar or extension flexes at all you need something beefier. That little bit of flex keeps it from snapping free.

I've removed more crank bolts than I could keep up with. Working on Honda's and Acura's since 99.. Really, get on the other side and pull, not push.

If you are up for a drive to AL I'll take the bolt out no charge.

i did it on the accord once and it was a real PITA. i also have a 6ft cheater bar and ended up having to have a friend come over with his air compressor/gun to get it to come loose.

keep at it or find a friend that has an air compressor. good luck!

I won't be removing it myself. After we gave up on the crank pulley we moved on to the exhaust came to replace the TDC sensor. After a lot of cursing and a few more beers we got that taking care of. While tq'ing down one of the cam girdle's my friend snapped one of the bolts. I'm towing the car to a shop to get it removed and finish the rest of the Kpro install.

AHH i do miss having a shop to do this stuff, what you should have used was a 3/4 impact gun with 180+ psi. youl either break it loose or break your socket...
