my clutch problem
i just had my stage 1 competition clutch kit and act prolite flywheel installed by honda. after 4k miles the clutch is already burnt out.
their trying to blame it on me or a bad part but i dont get how the clutch wouldve burnt out in 4k miles when this car hasnt been raced or the clutch has never been dumped. it's just a simple daily driver.
it started slipping while it was already in gear.
i spent $800 on parts and $700 on labor. anyone know what i should do?

Sounds like the wrong setup for street driving to me. A flywheel that light with a competition clutch - you probably have to slip the clutch in normal driving too much, so you wore it out. Some people who feel that every car needs to be a race car may disagree however...
Did you replace the pressure plate? How long did the original clutch last? What year S?

too heavy of a clutch can cause the crank to push foward through the block too. i had a freind that did a competeition clutch in his car and it "rocked" the crank and destroyed the block

it's only a stage 1 clutch. it was just made by competition clutch.
it was everything new from the bearings to the flywheel pressureplate and clutch disk
i dont know how long the original clutch lasted. i had to buy this one when i get the new motor on.
and it's a my00

Well you probably burnt up you're clutch. You're only option at this pointis to call the that mad your clutch and see what they can do for you. At best they'll send you new clutch and then you'll need to have someone replace it. If you had used oem parts
then there is a chance the dealer could have done a parts warranty on it.

Looks like a bad install or a bad driver. I'll believe its a bad install since you had it done at Honda and I've heard bad things about their techs on these types of installs several times.
Only way of finding out is to take it out and inspect all components, flywheel, pressure plate and disc. Have this done by a shop other than Honda. I recommend a shop that works mainly on Honda/Acura and better yet if they have experience in this type of work on the S2000. They'll be able to tell you what went wrong.

So if you burn the clutch a lot during break in it will smooth it out? I always new to baby it for ~500 miles, I didn't know that's what'll happen. Anyway, sounds like a bad install unless you were feathering 9k launches all the time. My street act disc lasted 30k miles and I had had some seriously sick launches maybe 30 times on it along with spirited driving.
