Is my clutch going out?

So, this may seem like a really dumb question, but I just want to get some information from others before I make a decision.
I have a 2000 S, and it's got 66k. Supposedly the previous owner put in a stage 4 clutch; I got the car from a dealer and they don't know what the brand is.
It has the typical clutch buzz, but the point of engagement in the clutch is extremely high; ~2-4cm's from not being compressed at all.
It makes it a complete pain in the ass to drive, also since it's a "stage 4." Car is completely stock engine wise so it is a little overkill.
But curious if anyone has information to help me out with?

Why would you think the clutch is going out? Does it slip?
Test it by going about 40mph and putting it in 6th gear and floor the gas (dont press the clutch in) and if the RPMs shoot up then it's slipping. If not it's fine.
If the engagement point is just too high then there may be clutch adjustments that you can do to the actual pedal but I've never done it before on this car.

You don't, the only thing you should adjust is the free play, and that's done at the rod that's attached to master cylinder and clutch pedal. You should have about 3/4" of free play. If it ain't slipping it ain't broke and if it ain't broke don't fix it.
