It may be your release bearing needs to be regreased, which I am sorry to say requires removing the transmission. I had this problem when I changed out my clutch for the first time, I did not use the correct grease in the release bearing "valley" and the grease that I used quickly got sticky and was dragging on the release bearing guide, which also had to be replaced. Replaced release bearing, release bearing guide and regreased properly with super high temp urea grease and no problems since. HTH

an update:
the problem persisted.
at some stage it got worse and worse until a point when the clutch pedal couldn't be depressed at all at high revs shifting at 2nd and 3rd gears and clutch pedal became sticky always even under low revs shifting.

so i ordered clutch parts.

2 days after they all arrived i noticed that clutch is sliping (revs go up but speed remains the same).

so YES - my clutch was dying.

got new one installed today and all is good now
