is my Clutch dying?
recently my clutch pedal started to behave stangly - when i press it at high RPMs during hard acceleration - the very first movement has a "notch".
at low/medium RPM and "easy" driving it's absolutely smooth.
the car has done 54,000km (34,000 miles).
clutch fuild was bled ~8 months ago with DOT4.
is my clutch dying (i don't feel any slipage) or the problem is somewhere else?

Along those same lines how about if your clutch starts to slip under power and you don't have nearly enough miles or abuse to need a new clutch? Is there something other than the clutch itself that can cause that? No notchiness like OP but symptoms came on suddenly.
62k mi and clutch fluid has been bled/replaced in the past 5k miles.

try go up hill with high gear at low rpm, the car will bog down big time but check to see if the rpm is making the acceleration, if the rpm goes with much forward motion, you got a slipping clutch.
btw, dot4 for clutch line is way over kill, there never really reach the same operation temp as brake fluid and like all dot4 fluid, they need to be replaced sooner.

i think it's normal to change stock clutch at 62k miles.

you can pull the slave cylinder and relude the rod, on the earlier model there's a nasty casting line there, some people grind those down for a smoother pedal feel.

i thought about slave cylinder rod - but this started suddenly.
when i think what major thing was done just before:
1. engine oil replaced
2. brake system rebleeded
3. coilovers installed
4. alignment redone
doesn't seems to me that any of those should've affect clutch feeling.
am i wrong?
