My cel light is blinking:(
Hi guys,
I was driving today from downtown Chicago, when mu CEL light went on, day before my friend mishifted from 3rd to 2nd. CEL light is only on under 2500 RPM, and car isnt smooth on idle its vibrating strongly, I reset the ecu but its still blinking, Im very worried that I moght had blown the engine(hope not )
any thoughts on that?

So when he mis-shifted, did he overrev?
You really need to have it looked at before it gets worse.
On another note: the CEL (or is it the maintenance light?) would come on to remind of an oil service. Happened to me once. But all I had to do was reset it with the key in the ignition.

A blinking CEL indicates the engine is not meeting emissions specifications and the emissions systems are in danger of being damaged. This frequently means an extremely lean condition is detected and can't be corrected by the ECM. Lean is BAD.
You should NEVER drive the car with a blinking CEL unless you know exactly what caused it and know it will "correct itself" withing a few seconds. An example of this would be running out of fuel in a hard corner - it can sometimes make the CEL blink because the engine runs lean enough to damage the CAT if it continues. If it only lasts a few seconds and stops when you straighten up, no big deal.
If it were my car I would have it towed in and get it checked ASAP.
You may be able to get some preliminary info by checking the DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) yourself. I have some info here.

OKay, i had misfire at cylinder 2 and 4, we did compression test, and it came out perfect, spark plugs are like brain new, the guys reset the ecu, change the coils between cylinders, and it seem like everyting is running fine...for now
