My car is very strange :(
A few days ago, my battery was dead at my school becase of my Ipod, but I'm not sure of it. I jump started my car and took it to my home.
I charged my battery and then set it up with my friend.
I put my key, every light came on.
However, when I push the start engine button, everything is dead.
I disconnected my battery, connected again and then I could start engine.
Anyone knows what is problem?
So, I can start engine sometimes not everytime whenever I want.

when you went to start the car, did the dash lights go dim? were you hearing any clicking at all of the starter, or any signs of the engine turning?
could be a bad battery, bad alternator, or just a bad connection. are there any additional strains to the battery at all? (subwoofers/caps/etc)

Only at the first time when I set my battery up in my car dash light came on.
but when I push engine start button, everything was dead.
even dash light was also dead, but my battery has still 13~14v.
So, I disconneted the battery for 1 minute and then set it up again.
I could start engine. That was weird.
I think something has bad connection.
Thank you for replies

its not the volts that starts the car. you can still have good voltage but no amperage.. I also think it just sounds like it had a bad connection and im sure it is working just fine now that you disconnected it and reconnected it

Mine did the same thing yesterday! Husband drove my car to get food and it died on him.
He had to push start it. Got home and can't start it. Worked on it until midnight with no luck.
He put it on the charger all nite and still wouldn't start this morning. So no work for me today.
I'm thinking maybe bad alternator?
