Simultaneous loss of the a/c function and engine temperature rise suggests a possible cause common to the both of them. I certainly would check pulleys and belts. Perhaps the compressor shaft is binding up and causing the belt to slip.

Not sure if that is related but when I was low on coolant my heater in old civic started blow cold air instead of hot.
Anyway, I would check coolant level first, then definitely remove that intercooler that blocks air to the radiator.. if you live in the hot weather area that might be the reason...

Does your a/c work now? Post up in the FI forum, I would think that 110 degrees turbo/intercooler would = some cooling upgrades.Correct me if I'm wrong.

You can drive around all you want in 110F temps and as long as the coolant/fan system is working the car will be fine. With or without A/C.
If your fans aren't kicking in and you get pass the halfway mark for temp, get it checked out.
