Have you checked for a current draw on the battery when the car is shut off? May be you have an electrical problem that is draining it. I had a problem a few years back with a bad power antenna that did not shut off when the car was off. Rewired it to shut off with the ignition and problem solved.

Batteries should last much longer than 3 years.

ok, problem fixed, needed a new battery. Was an '03 battery and needed more higher crank amps since I have a sound system, and a few other things compared to how my car was when I got it 3 years ago.

How would you check to see if there is a draw? Volt meter?

No, ammeter. Looking for current draw. Any multimeter should be able to do it. BTW, do not be fooling with an ammeter and a car battery unless you know what you are doing.
