Is my car going to die?

Hrm, I guess just do a search for krankvents, maybe diy krankvents to get all the details.
Basically you splice in two pcv valves in the breather hoses from the cam cover.. go to autozone or whatever and get two valves from a supra turbo, they work well and cost like $2.50 each.
My oil consumption dropped drastically, but the downside is a noise engine bay.. sounds like a chicken is clucking under the hood.. I think the consensus is since there is added pressure under the cam cover due to the pcv values, the air tries to escape elsewhere, and the noise is it leaking out..

My oil consumption is stable at 1/4 to 1/2 qt every oil change(3-4k miles). I did have a dipstick popping up every time I vtec'd issue forever. Didn't really go away until I installed a Oil catchcan and halfway through my first trackday it stopped popping up. Been over a month and hasn't popped up since.

Got my car back from the mechanic, they said they couldn't replicate the problem.
Drove about 100 miles since and no issues at all.
My face:
Knock on wood of course. Needless to say I couldn't help but give my car a big hug.

Did your car sound like a diesel motor before it died? If so and you ran it like that for awhile, expect future problems.

Hmm, still curious what exactly happen, what did they do to get it to run? Just make sure you check your oil every time you get gas or sooner. (In your case sooner would be better lol)

Going 6k miles without changing the oil won't hurt your engine. I've gone (hate to admit it) 9k miles once without a change and didn't hurt a thing. Modern oils can go longer than they used to without being changed. Yes its not GOOD, but its not going to hurt either. The difference is though that I check my oil constantly because I know it gets burnt away pretty quickly. I'm constantly adding fresh oil into the engine to keep the level up.
You most likely didn't have enough oil in there or did something else to the engine to hurt it. 6k mile black oil doesn't kill engines.

I am very lucky, had to drive the thing to death today and still fortunately no problems at all. I've definitely learned my lesson though. Gonna check the oil every freaking week lol. This car is very temperamental
