My car feel slower now
I have an 06 S2000 when i got it it had 8700miles. i had it for 6 months now but lately it feels blogly. It feel like it take forever to hit vtec. Lately it been like 93 outside soo it could be that but i want to sure. How can i test this?
Also i change my hood i hear a very light ticking sound from the heads ppl tell me this it normal. Is it?
and on hot day my pedals feel gummy after a while. what can i do to stop this?
I only thing i have on the car is a K&N Drop in
CF Hood
i over rev one time about 3 month ago when the car pop out of 4th gear with cruise on. i stop it at about 8200 RPMS
the deal says there nothing wrong i see them wrong on the car and they look like they dont know what they are doing.

hmm...do you have the e-throttle? the ticking could be the lifters....i havent messed with my engine yet since i only got 1k on it
the clicking though COULD be lifters, i heard it all the time on benz (cuz i work on them) but im not too sure on hondas...still tinkerin on'em

When you over-rev'd the motor, the dash doesn't relay accuratly your true RPM
if you had the speed you were going and what gear you went into, then you could get a better idea. So if your going 90 mph in 4th then went into second by accident.
If you did, you might want to check your retainers and get them replaced on the intake side, it's cheap insurance and not a difficult process if you have someone competent in mechanics.
The ticking is normal valve train/vacuum noises, but that's hard to judge.
Heat will force the ECU to retart the timing and run sluggish (for sake of better words) compared to a cool day.
Anyone in Miami know a good mechanic to visually check the retainers? It's a straight forward job.

If the car popped out of 4th gear into neutral this IS NOT an over rev. The car was merely bouncing off the rev limiter because the cruise control was applying gas as though the car was still in 4th gear.

heat and humidity is a killer on the S2k (timing retard) hence the great variety of cold air intakes.
You should reset your ecu first...by pulling the appropriate fuse or disconnecting the battery (have your radio code handy).
Checking your airfilter is another suggestion.

If you reset the ECU, just make sure the car has been off for at least 15 minutes.
