Sorry to bring back an old thread, I just recently changed my rear calipers with some low mileage ones from a crashed car. I was meticulous, I greased everything but the rotors and pads, all contact and sliding surfaces, I even used a file to the sides of the pads to make sure my pads weren't sticking to the shims. I cleaned calipers with brake clean until there was no dirt coming off after wiping with a white paper towel. Before installing I took apart the calipers and there was no pitting, or scratches in the cylinder or the piston, even then I took a flex hone and cleaned it out. I installed new seals and dust boots, new sliding pins and boots for the pins. The piston turned easily once everything was back together. I used new shims, and used a wire wheel on a bench grinder then I used 600 grit sand paper to polish the backing plates, greased both sides. Used rubber grease on the dust boot, high temperature brake grease on the slider pins, and shin etsu grease on the pin boots.

I installed everything bled the brakes via gravity, and they work perfectly, no more binding. To my surprise my right rear wheel still gets hotter than the others, although nowhere near as bad as before, and my pads have a squeak once they're warm. They have plenty of life left, and the rotors were measured with a dial indicator, and a brake micrometer and had plenty of meat and no warping. Are my pads just shitty? I have Akebono Pro-Act ceramics, they work great for my once in a blue moon tracked car, but that damn squeal, should I just get a new set of pads?

Maybe I just need to re-bed the pads with some hard stops?
