Not sure about the S2000 light flashing a code. I will have to consult the maintenance manual to find the location but on most cars it is inside the compartment usually on a side panel under the dash. On my car I had to remove the glove box to provide access but of course the S is different. It is not in the engine compartment because you don't want that module to be the first thing to take a hit in a collision. It is about the size of a small paperback book, often a brighter color. Once you remove the plastic case and unplug the connections you can take the box to the workbench and remove the circuit board. You can identify the fuses visually and order them but I usually just search on the web to find it.

The flashing code I received lead me to discover the fuse is designed to burn through if a short is detected. You need to find and fix the short (or whatever the detected problem is) and then replace the fuse. I had to do it so many times because I thought I found the problem area in cracked insulation on wires and tried to fix it. Then it would rain and another short would occur. Again I would launch on a goose chase. In the end I wound up re-coating an entire run going to the impact sensor. The car was a 1994.

If there are no flashing codes, I am not sure how you discover the exact problem area. I will consult the old manual.

I checked things out in the electrical troubleshooting manual (not in there) and the general maintenance manual. The SRS module is behind the radio. You have to remove the center console and radio to get at it. However, the connection for that (seems similar to the OBD ) is at the right of the console under the dash (00-01) in the center or on later models to the right of the drivers leg. It requires an HDC (don't know what the acronym means) that seems to be proprietary maintenance tools by Honda. You can read codes with it and reset it too) No flashing lights indicating what is wrong without the HDC.

This may be one deal where you need the proper tool to read and find what the issue is.

You getting the Passenger Airbag OFF notification in the middle of the dash over the radio? See your owner's manual. (This applies 2006 and later.)

Hey guys!...what did you ultimately find out?...I have the same issue...the air bag light is now on permanently on my 2004 AP2...I’m ready to get into diagnosis mode or even buying a part if that has a chance of fixing it...please let me know what you know as soon as you know it...cheers Ian.

I think mine was coming on because I was putting a guitar amp on the passenger seat. I tried the code clearing method with a paper clip.... fastened the passenger seat belt.....and it hasn't happened again.....crossed fingers!!

Agh!...your car is 3 years younger than mine and has later technology...my dash passenger air back does not have a passenger seat sensor...thanks for updating me and the Forum.

So dammit, here’s a new appeal to any S2000 air bag diagnostic specialists for circa 2004 models?...HELP!...:-)...any ideas from anybody with an experience similar to mine?...

Don't limit your troubleshooting to the airbags. It's not an "airbag" indicator, it's a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) indicator -- meaning air bags AND seatbelt tensioners.

Chapter 23 of the Service Manual has nearly 200 pages of information on the SRS -- a bit more than can be put in a note here.
