Sorry about your luck. Good luck with finding the fix though!

Wow, you guys went this long without mentioning the CDV?

That's what the issue is, the Clutch Delay Valve. Honda included this to protect the diff and create some slippage before engagement.

I've actually learned to drive "around" it and don't experiance it too often anymore. There is a fix in here to actually remove the CDV for a better feeling clutch and drive for that matter.
It is not the CDV. There is an actual flat spot between 2k-3k rpm, as if there is a "hole" in the fuel map or something. Its as if the engine falls on its face or something but once it clears 2800rpms, it all good. I don't even think its the DBW system. I reckon its something within the ECU's fuel map. Maybe thats why the 07 ECU was changed?

If enough 06 folks have this problem and voice concern to their dealer and American Honda, maybe they will reflash our ECU's with the 07 map.

Have any 06 owners here test driven an 07 to see if they can replicate the same problem?

No, not yetr, but you have a good idea. I think I will tell the service manager I want to compare my 06 to an 07 on my next visit.

I think I figured this one out.

On my friend's 06 we took out the cat and put in a T1R pipe along with a 06 Mugen cat-back. My impression while test driving it is that all restriction was gone and the accel dip is no longer present.

Conclusion: the stock cat and/or the stock exhaust restricts airflow at some point or the back pressure is too high.

guys, this is DBW lag. this is normal. no need to get worried about it. i'm sure there are things that can help it. the way to stay away from it is to shift higher than 3k, somewhere around 4k-5k.

my 07 does the same, especially I accelerate at a dead stop. Also noticed in 2nd gear as well. I didn't look at the RPM and will today.

Prior to my S, I had an 05 Accord and it too did that. I thought it was just my car.

I know this hesitation well. I think its the knock sensor predicting a little bit of detonation at low RPM... so it briefly reduces throttle... I think the DBW is fine and is just allowing the engine to better protect itself.

Thought I would bump this thread with some info. I have removed my CDV and the flat spot remains there, never thought it was the CDV. The flat spot occurs during slow 1-2 shifts, like stated earlier, usually when short shifting from 1st to 2nd.

Has anyone who has experienced this, and later had a Hondata reflash, care to shed any info on how the car drives in similar circumstances with the reflash?

Dino
