THANK GOD! THANKYOU! Nice to know that others are experienceing this as well! I was starting to think that I was getting rusty at driving a stick! I posted about this a month ago in S2k talk and was told that it was probably all in my head!

My gut feeling is that its some element of the DBW at work here. It seems to try to smooth out the throttle reapplication by gradually feeding in the throttle. I to notice it most on the 1-2 shift more than anything else, but it is still apparent from 2-3. I've tried varying shifting techniques, but apart from slipping the clutch more on the upshift, I haven't really found a way around it.

I know someone posted a thread on here where they had tightned the throttle cable on the DBW system (yes it has a cable), and said that it improved throttle response. Maybe this would help with the problem.

I posted the throttle cable mod.

Although it improved physical response time, it did not affect this issue at all.

i never noticed it... but yeah, it's the DBW... our cars, unlike any other manual tranny, still have a kickdown button under the pedal, and if you don't utilize it, it won't be giving it's all.

My '06 does the same thing, but mostly rolling off 2nd or 3rd gear. The tech at the dealer expereienced it, but then the service wsdvisor wrote it up as "unable to reproduce customer's problem" So much for hoping for a fix when Honda won't admit to a problem. BTW, the tech indicated that there is a problem with "fuel starvation." That makes no sense when this occurs at a time of minimum fuel demand.

my buddy that is a service advisor has an 07. he said it was something called a clutch delay from the dbw system that was installed on the 06-07. i dont really know much about it. but he did remove it from his 07 and it drives much better.

Wow, you guys went this long without mentioning the CDV?

That's what the issue is, the Clutch Delay Valve. Honda included this to protect the diff and create some slippage before engagement.

I've actually learned to drive "around" it and don't experiance it too often anymore. There is a fix in here to actually remove the CDV for a better feeling clutch and drive for that matter.

I am not talking about the CDV
